A videographer with a film background

My name is Raphaël Molina and I am a videographer based in Paris. I come from cinema: I am first and foremost a cinematographer, responsible for image and lighting on short films, music videos and commercials, and I also work as a gaffer on feature films and Netflix series. When I shoot a video for a company, a brand, an artist or an event, I bring the same standards: careful framing, real lighting and an image with character.

You can see the difference on screen. A video shot with a cinematic approach holds attention for longer, shows people and places in a better light, and gives a more professional image of what you do. That is true for a commercial as much as for a few seconds of video made for Instagram or LinkedIn.

The videos I make

Branded content and social media

Short formats, vertical or horizontal, founder portraits, product videos, behind-the-scenes looks at a craft: I design and shoot content made for each platform. The challenge is to grab attention in the very first second while staying true to the brand’s visual identity. One shoot can be turned into several formats to feed your channels for weeks.

Corporate films

Presenting a company, a team, a place or a project takes clarity and sincerity. I film interviews lit the way they would be on a film set, shoot supporting footage in your offices or in the field, and make sure everyone on camera feels at ease. The result is a film that looks like you, without the stiffness of a typical corporate video.

Event coverage and aftermovies

Festivals, concerts, launches, parties, trade fairs: filming an event means anticipating, because nothing can be re-shot. I filmed the aftermovie of the Château Perché festival in 2025, moving between stages, crowds and set designs. I work light and discreetly, making the most of the event’s own lighting, to bring back lively images that make people wish they had been there.

Music videos and artistic projects

For musicians, dancers and visual artists, video is often the main showcase. I like to look for a strong identity, with colourful lighting, distinctive camera moves and an image texture that matches the artist’s world. As part of lighting crews, I have also worked on music videos for Rauw Alejandro, Kyan Khojandi and Barack Adama.

A cinematic image, even with a small crew

Many video projects are shot with a small crew, sometimes a single person. That is where my dual background makes the difference: I can both operate the camera and light a scene, and I own a professional camera kit with lenses and accessories. I can arrive on a shoot self-sufficient and set up proper lighting quickly, where a videographer without set experience often has to settle for whatever light is available.

For bigger projects, I bring a trusted team, camera assistants, electricians, a sound recordist, and work with editors and colourists for post-production. You have one point of contact for the image, and a crew sized to your budget.

How a video project works

1. The brief

Everything starts with a conversation about your goals: who the video is for, where it will be shown, what it needs to say, your timing and your budget. These answers shape the format, the length and the shooting setup.

2. Preparation

I suggest a visual direction, with references, a shot list and a realistic schedule. If needed, I scout the location to anticipate light, sound and access constraints.

3. The shoot

On the day, I take care of image and lighting, direct the people on camera kindly and keep an eye on the schedule. At an event, I stay mobile so as not to miss any important moment.

4. Post-production and delivery

Depending on the project, editing and grading are handled by professionals I regularly work with, and I follow this stage so that the final image matches what was shot. Videos are delivered in the right formats for each use: website, social media, event screens.

Why hire a professional videographer?

Anyone can film with a phone today. But a video that represents a brand, a company or an artist deserves more than an acceptable picture. A professional videographer brings an eye, a method and the right equipment: clean sound, light that flatters faces, framing that guides the viewer, a steady and sharp image even in difficult conditions.

It is also a matter of time. A well-prepared shoot runs without stress, respects the schedule of the people being filmed and delivers footage that can be used in many ways: a main video, short edits, stills for your communication. In the end, a good video gets watched, gets shared and keeps working for you for months.

Videographer or cinematographer: what is the difference?

The two jobs overlap. A videographer often handles a project from start to finish, sometimes alone, across many formats. A cinematographer, or director of photography, is the head of the camera department in a film or commercial crew, working alongside a director. I do both: on a fiction film or a commercial with a director, I work as a cinematographer; for branded content, a corporate film or an event, I can step in as a videographer, with the same care for the image.

For international brands filming in Paris

Paris is a natural backdrop for fashion, beauty, food, travel and luxury brands, and many foreign companies need content shot here without sending a full team. As a local, English-speaking videographer, I can take care of the shoot on the ground: scouting locations in advance, working with local talent and crew, adapting to the rules of each venue and sending the footage back quickly. Your team can follow the shoot remotely if needed, and I make sure the brief is respected down to the smallest detail. The same goes for events: a conference, a product launch or a brand activation in Paris can be covered by a single videographer or by a small crew, depending on the scale.

Videographer in Paris, France and Europe

Based in Paris, I shoot in the Île-de-France region and all over France. I also have accommodation in Lyon, Montpellier and Vannes, which makes shoots in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Occitanie and Brittany easier. I have a vehicle and travel with my equipment to your location, whether it is a Paris office, an open-air festival or a workshop in the countryside.

I speak fluent English and work with international brands and agencies, and I can film interviews in English. This page also exists in French.
